Ademola Lookman’s goal was enough for Nigeria as the Super Eagles defeated Angola 1-0 to advance to the AFCON semifinals.
The Atalanta Forward scored in the 41st minute as he shot the ball past Angola’s goalkeeper, thanks to a Moses Simon assist. CAF African Player of the Year, Victor Osimhen scored a second goal to extend the lead but was canceled due to offside. The Palancas Negras of Angola tried to level the score but were denied on several occasions by the Nigerian Goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali who passed a late fitness test after picking up an injury against Cameroon in the Round of 16.
