Reports indicate that assailants have gunned down a traditional ruler, Segun Aremu, known as the Olukoro of Koro, in a south-western Nigeria palace raid on Thursday night.
AAN TV gathered that his wife and another person were abducted during the attack which occurred in Ekiti LGA of Kwara State.
The identity and motives of the assailants remain unclear, and it’s uncertain if they are seeking a ransom.

This incident follows calls from 50 civil society groups for President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency due to the escalating attacks with over 1,800 abductions reported since May.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq condemned the killing, pledging to apprehend the perpetrators.
It should be recalled that Gunmen killed two Traditional Rulers in Ekiti last week and also kidnapped several pupils alongside their teachers from a school in Emure LGA of Ekiti State.
AAN TV reported that the assailants demanded a ransom of N100 Million for their liberty.
Also, a senior government official was kidnapped on Wednesday night in the Bwari suburb of the capital, Abuja, not far from the home of six sisters who were abducted for ransom last month with their father.
One of the girls was shot dead due to a delay in paying the ransom.
