Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has extended his congratulations to Tobi Amusan, the World record holder, for her outstanding achievement in emerging as the fastest woman in the women’s 100m hurdles event at the Jamaican Invitational Tournament.
He remarked that she has brought pride to Ogun State and Nigeria. Amusan set this remarkable record this year by clocking an impressive 12.40s to win Kingston’s first Jamaica Athletics Invitational. She clinched victory ahead of Jamaican and World Champion, Danielle Williams.
In his congratulatory message, Governor Abiodun praised Amusan for her strong will and character, acknowledging her exceptional talent and skill which have brought honor to Ogun State and Nigeria. “On behalf of the government and the people of Ogun State, I warmly congratulate our distinguished daughter, Tobi Amusan, for emerging as the fastest woman in the women’s 100m hurdles in 2024.
Her blistering 12.40s win at the first Jamaica Athletics Invitational in Kingston, ahead of Jamaican and world champion, Danielle Williams, showcases her tenacity and determination for excellence.
