Nigeria’s Shot-putter, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi finished 6th in the men’s Shot Put final at the ongoing World Indoor Championships in Glasgow.
The reigning African Champion recorded a landing of 21.60m to finish 6th in the Men’s Shotput final which was won by American, Ryan Crouser with a Championship Record of 22.77 meters ahead of New Zealand Tom Walsh and Italy’s Leonardo Fabbri who claimed Silver and bronze respectively.
Enekwechi performance in Glasgow was his highest placement ever at a global championship and just 3 centimeters off his new African Record from of 21.63 meters at the 2024 Hvezdy Nwhvizdech Indoor Tour Silver World Athletics in February.
The 31-year-old 6th place finish is the highest ever world championships placement for a Nigerian at the Shotput event as he builds momentum towards the Paris 2024 Olympics.
