South Africa’s Women’s Football Team, Banyana Banyana will face the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the last round of the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifier.

The Current African Champions defeated Tanzania 1-0 at the Mbombela stadium in Mpumalanga on Tuesday night. The Hosts had entered the second leg with a three-nil advantage from the First Leg in Dar es Salaam. Despite a few chances created in the first half, the two sides could not find a breakthrough as the match ended goalless at halftime break.

The Hosts broke the deadlock as Kholosa Biyana’s free kick found Thembi Kgatlana who slotted past the Tanzanian’s goalkeeper in the 57th minute. The visitors also displayed a great fighting spirit. They tested Banyana Banyana’s defense a few times, but none of their chances could beat the South African goalkeeper, Kaylin Swart.

Coach Desiree Ellis’s side will now face the Super Falcons in a two-legged match which will be played between April 1st to 9th 2024. The winner of the encounter will be one of the two African nations to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics in France.
