The “Take It Back Movement,” a prominent human rights group, took to the streets of Ojuelegba in Lagos State on Monday to voice their concerns over the escalating cost of living and the surging prices of food items in the country.
This demonstration was a direct response to the cautionary statement issued by Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, on the preceding Sunday.
Protesters were observed in the Ojuelegba under bridge area, brandishing placards adorned with various inscriptions, passionately articulating their grievances against the prevailing economic hardships faced by citizens nationwide.
The demonstration aimed to draw attention to the pressing issues surrounding the affordability of basic necessities, emphasising the need for tangible solutions to alleviate the burdens faced by the populace.
