The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the Best XI of the recently concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The CAF Best XI comprises of Three Nigerians, Three Ivorians, Two South Africans, Two Congolese and One Equatorial Guinean. Ivorian AFCON winning coach, Emerse Fae is the Coach of the Team.

The players on the CAF XI are 2023 AFCON winners, Ghislan Konan (Defender), Jean Michael Seri (Midfielder) and Franck Kessie (Midfielder) who scored a goal in the final of the tournament. The Super Eagles of Nigeria who lost the final on Sunday had the skipper and Player of the Tournament, William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, and Ademola Lookman who scored three goals.

Goalkeeper of the Tournament, Ronwen Williams and Mamelodi Sundowns FC Midfielder, Teboho Mokoena were the two South Africans on the team. The duo of Dr Congo’s Chancel Mbemba and Brentford Forward, Yoanne Wissa also made the best eleven as their team finished the fourth-best team after losing the third-place match to South Africa. Equatorial Guinea’s Emilio Nsue who emerged as the top goalscorer of the tournament with five goals completes the Team.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which is regarded as the best “AFCON” ever, concluded on Sunday in an epic fashion with host nation, Cote d’Ivoire completing one of the greatest comebacks in a final defeating the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2-1 at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan.
