The Egypt Football Association has appointed Hossam Hassan as their new Technical director. The Pharaohs announced the appointment on Tuesday.
The 57-year-old who is Egypt’s all-time highest goalscorer was appointed alongside his brother, Ibrahim Hassan who has more than 100 caps for the North African Team as National Team Manager. It would be recalled that former Egyptian Coach, Rui Vitoria was sacked on Sunday after they were knocked out of the 2023 AFCON Round of 16 by DR Congo via penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Hossam Hassan has managed several Egyptian clubs such as Zamalek and Al Masry since beginning his coaching career in 2008. He was also part of the winning team that won the Nations Cup in 1986, 1998 and 2006 with Egypt. He also had a brief stint with the National team of Jordan where he managed the team qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup.

His first Match as Egypt Coach will be against Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.
