2023 African Player of The Year, Victor Osimhen and two other Super Eagles players have passed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) random anti-doping test.
CAF selected Nigeria and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon and Captain, William Troost-Ekong for random drug tests after their Round of 16 2-0 win against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. The striker who played a crucial role in the Round of 16 match as he dispossessed a Cameroonian defender before providing an assist to Ademola Lookman who lashed the ball past the goalkeeper.

The players were selected for random tests which are standard procedures typically conducted on players whose energy might raise suspicions of substance use.
According to reports, Two Cameroonian players were also selected for the same tests which means not only the super eagles’ players were involved in the doping tests.
This is a major boost for the Super Eagles of Nigeria who will be hoping to defeat the Palancas Negros of Angola in their quarter-final match on Friday 2nd February 2024.
