Nigeria and Bayer Leverkusen Forward, Victor Boniface, has been named in the German Bundesliga Team of the Season.
The First Eleven Team was selected by 40% of the votes from fans while clubs and experts each accounted for 30%, according to Bundesliga. The Team comprised one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders, and three attackers.
Boniface and five other teammates at Bayer Leverkusen made the list which includes Jeremie Frimpong, Jonathan Tah, Alejandro Grimaldo, Granit Xhaka, and Florian Wirtz also received recognition for their exceptional contributions to the team’s success as they marched on to win their first ever Bundesliga Title. The 23-year-old Boniface made up the front three of Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, Guniea and VFB Stuttgart Forward, Serhou Guirassy.
Despite a setback due to an adductor injury, Boniface’s prowess on the field remained undeniable throughout the season. His impressive tally of 11 goals and nine assists in just 20 Bundesliga appearances underscores his significance to Bayer Leverkusen’s campaign.
The journey for Boniface, who joined Bayer Leverkusen from Belgian Pro League side, Union St Gilloise last summer, epitomizes a remarkable rise in the Bundesliga.
