On Thursday, the perpetrators of the attacks in Plateau State issued a menacing warning of impending attacks on a community within the state, specifically targeting the Pushit community in Mangu Local Government Area.
The revelation came from Stanley Kavwam, Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Middle Belt Forum, during an appearance on the Arise TV program on Thursday December 28.
The community, grappling with the ominous threat, awaits the potential escalation of the situation.
“While I was driving down from Jos to this place, I received a call. A letter was sent to my own village by the terrorists that the attackers were going to invade on the 29th of this December.
“All the attacks that were orchestrated, there was a letter to that effect that was dropped by an anonymous person, intimating the residents of Mangu LGA that there would be attacks”, he said.
Just four days have passed since the daring gunmen attacked 17 towns on Christmas eve, killing multiple people and setting the communities on fire.
The horrific attack on defenceless civilians in the three local government districts in Plateau has left about 200 residents dead while many have been displaced.
Newsmen were informed on Thursday by a trustworthy source who is aware of the sad incidence that the state’s Bokkos Local Government Area had at least 149 burials, including those of women and children.
He noted that no fewer than 28 lives were lost in Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau as a result of the unprovoked attack by the ruthless attackers who have been wreaking havoc throughout the state.
Similarly, during the horrific attack, roughly 19 people were shot and killed in the Mangu Local Government Area. Every attack took place on a single day.
Overtime, attacks in Plateau have raised the question of whether or not the perpetrators are known.
