The General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Enugu Rangers International, Amobi Ezeaku made his professional debut for the Seven Times NPFL Champions as they defeated Niger Tornadoes 2-0 at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
Amobi came on in the second half after Chidiebere Nwobodo and Godwin Obaje had given the Away side a 2-0 lead in the first half. Nwobodo opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Obaje doubled the lead in the 25th minute as Rangers International continued their Five games in a row without defeat. The Enugu-based Club is yet to concede a goal in their five last matches.
The CEO expressed his happiness on X saying that ”I woke up in tears. Fulfilled. This means a lot to me. To wear the badge of this great Club. To fight for this badge and the people who love this. To fight for our Ancestors and the protection of our history. I was born loving this game and this Club.” He also added “I will die loving this game and this Club. This is beyond the game. This is more than the game. This is my life… We are Rangers International F.C of Enugu”.
Enugu Rangers are third in the Nigeria Professional Football league with 40 points after 23 games. The seven time champions have won 12 games, 7 losses and 4 draws.
