Olaide Adelami, a former deputy clerk of the National Assembly, has been appointed deputy governor of Ondo State by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
This occurred just hours after all of the commissioners and special advisers were fired by the governor on Wednesday.
The new deputy governor’s name has been forwarded to the state House of Assembly for confirmation, according to a statement sent by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ebenezer Adeniyan.
“His nomination will be announced by the House of Assembly later today,” the statement read.
Adelami retired as Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly l in April 2018. He hails from Owo, Owo Local Government Area, the same LGA of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Adelami was an APC governorship aspirant in 2020 but stepped down for the late Akeredolu
Also, Governor Aiyedatiwa has approved the appointment of Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The Governor also approved the appointment of Mr. Abayomi Olasanya as the Chief of Protocol.
Both appointments take immediate effect.
