Kenya’s President William Ruto is set to address the nation at 1300 GMT on Friday, as announced by his spokesperson on X (formerly Twitter).
This comes after Ruto dismissed all his ministers last week, except for the Prime Cabinet Secretary, the Foreign Affairs Minister, and the Deputy President.
This drastic action was taken in response to nationwide protests, marking the most significant crisis of his two-year presidency. Ruto has pledged to consult widely and form a broad-based government in the wake of these events.
