The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn in Group D of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Draws, held in Johannesburg, South Africa will see Nigeria Face Benin, Libya and Rwanda in Group D. Egypt, the most successful nation in AFCON history with seven titles will face Cape Verde and Mauritania, both of which performed admirably in the previous AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire. Botswana completes the lineup in Group C.
Current African Champions, Côte d’Ivoire, led by coach Emerse Faé has been drawn in Group G alongside former champions, Zambia, Sierra Leone, and Chad. The Elephants are keen to defend their title following their 2-1 victory over Nigeria in the last final in Abidjan.
The host nation, Morocco, placed in Group B, will compete against Gabon, the Central African Republic, and Lesotho. As hosts, Morocco is assured of participation and will benefit from home-ground support during the qualifiers, aiming to demonstrate their strength ahead of the main tournament.
The qualifiers will commence in September 2024 and conclude in November 2024. The top two teams from each of the eleven groups, excluding Group B where Morocco competes, will secure their spots in the tournament.
The draws were assisted by 2023 AFCON Winning Coach, Emerse Fae and Morocco Football Legend, Marouane Chamakh.
The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to take place from December 21st, 2025, to January 18th, 2026, in Morocco, promising an exciting display of African football talent.
