The Lagos police command has successfully rescued the three abducted Fouani brothers.
On June 14, around 6 PM, Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani, and Amtal Fouani were reportedly kidnapped in Lagos.
The brothers are associated with Fouani Nigeria Ltd, a company specializing in electronics and the sole distributor of LG, Hisense, and Maxi products in Nigeria.
The brothers were on a boat returning from their factory when the abduction occurred.
By Monday, the police had assured the public that efforts were underway to secure the victims’ release. It was gathered that the brothers, along with their boat driver and his assistant, were freed on Monday night in Orugbo Iddo.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson for Lagos State, confirmed their release via a WhatsApp message. He credited the Lagos Marine police and the Nigerian Navy for the successful rescue operation.
“They were rescued late last night in Orugbo Iddo. Our marine police, with support from the Nigerian Navy, brought them to shore,” Hundeyin stated. “Our tactical team then escorted them to their home on Banana Island in the early hours of today. Five individuals were rescued: three Lebanese, the boat captain, and his assistant.”
