The Lagos State Police Command is ramping up efforts to locate Mohamed Fouani, Managing Director of Fouani Nigeria Ltd, and his three brothers – Abbas, Youssef, and Amtal Fouani – who were kidnapped along the Lagos waterway on Friday evening.
Lagos Police Command Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Bundeyin, informed newsmen via a telephone interview that the Command is utilising all available resources to ensure the victims are rescued unharmed.
The kidnappers have reportedly demanded a ransom of $1.5 million for the release of the victims.
The incident occurred around the Falomo Bridge in the Ikoyi area while the Fouani brothers were travelling by boat from Apapa to Victoria Island. The boat they were travelling in was found near the Ikorodu jetty on Saturday, though there was no sign of the victims.
This kidnapping has raised concerns about the safety of waterways in Lagos, a key commercial hub in Nigeria. The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. Efforts to secure the release of the Fouani brothers continue as authorities work tirelessly to bring them back safely.
