The Nigerian Government has announced that Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, 2024, will be public holidays in celebration of Eid-ul-Adha.
Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, revealed this in a statement on Friday in Abuja. The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
The minister extended congratulations to the Muslim Ummah both in Nigeria and abroad, encouraging them to embody the values of peace, kindness, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He also urged the Muslim community to use this period to pray for the unity, prosperity, and stability of the nation.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is dedicated to ensuring the safety of all Nigerians. He wished the Muslim community a joyous Eid-ul-Adha and called on all citizens to contribute to the effort of creating a prosperous Nigeria for future generations.
