Veteran Yoruba actor Dayo Adewunmi, popularly known as Sule Suebebe, has passed away.
Suebebe, who had been bedridden for months, reportedly died early Wednesday morning at an undisclosed hospital in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The news of his death was shared by Pastor Ademola Amusan, also known as Agbala Gabriel, a prominent Ibadan-based cleric who had been caring for the late actor for several months.
Announcing the sad news on social media, Agbala Gabriel wrote: “It’s a pity, Baba Suebebe died at hospital this morning. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
In 2023, Suebebe had publicly appealed to Nigerians for forgiveness for his past reckless lifestyle and sought financial help on social media to cover his medical expenses.
Following his plea, some of his colleagues helped him get to the hospital for a surgery for an undisclosed illness, with efforts coordinated by Pastor Agbala Gabriel.
During his appeal, the actor shared that despite decades in the Yoruba movie industry, he had no significant achievements, no house, no car, and lived in poverty.
