English Premier League Club, Crystal Palace has signed Moroccan International, Chadi Riad from Barcelona on a long-term contract.
The 20-year-old defender joins Palace after spending the previous season on loan at Real Betis, where he made 30 appearances across all competitions.
Riad stated during the club’s announcement that the club has high-level players who are young, and I have come here to follow their same trajectory, to grow as they have grown,”
Riad was born in Palma, Mallorca, to Moroccan parents progressed through the youth system of the island’s club before moving to Barcelona and graduating from their prestigious La Masia academy. He made a single appearance for Barcelona’s first team.
Riad has earned three senior caps for Morocco, making his debut against Sierra Leone in January and scoring his first international goal against Congo earlier this week. He is Palace’s first signing of the transfer window, which opened on Friday.
