The Nigeria National Assembly has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to appear before the National Assembly on Monday.
It was reported that the invitation serves various purposes, one of which is to ensure the successful qualification of the Super Eagles for the African Nations Cup and the FIFA World Cup in 2026. Additionally, it aims to discuss the performance expectations for the Golden Eaglets at the 2024 WAFU B competition and the Super Falcons at the 2024 Olympics in France.
The House Committee on Sports has summoned the NFF to elucidate the challenges confronting the federation and to present plans for addressing them effectively. Additionally, they seek to explore avenues for legislative support in overcoming these challenges.
In related events, the Super Falcons are set to compete against world champions Spain, Brazil, and Japan in the women’s football tournament in Paris. Meanwhile, the Golden Eaglets are gearing up to face Togo, Burkina Faso, and Niger Republic.
