Nigeria’s Football Governing Body, The NFF has categorically denied the false online reports claiming Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has been banned from the team due to a recent social media outburst.
Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the NFF General Secretary, expressed his astonishment at these reports, clarifying that the Federation has neither initiated nor concluded any process to ban Osimhen from the National Team.
“The NFF urges the media to work collaboratively with us to resolve issues positively and maintain focus on the bigger picture, rather than unnecessarily escalating certain matters. There has been no official communication from the NFF regarding a ban on Osimhen, yet some individuals have irresponsibly spread this misinformation. This is not beneficial at all.
“Our current priority is to resolve all matters concerning the Super Eagles and to confidently prepare for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers and the remaining six matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification series.
“This is not the time to spread falsehoods and further contaminate the public discourse.”
