The Crack team of the Nigerian Police successfully thwarted a midnight assault by Boko Haram terrorists in Malari, Kondoga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attackers, arriving in significant numbers around 9.30pm on Thursday, targeted the police checkpoint. The crack team held their ground, engaging in a fierce hour-long gun battle with the terrorists.
Subsequently, reinforcements led by the Commanding Officer of Konduga and his personnel arrived, intensifying the resistance and compelling the terrorists to retreat.
The joint forces pursued the fleeing attackers, who managed to escape towards the Sambisa axis. Fortunately, no casualties or fatalities were reported in the course of the attack.
This comes after the terrorists attacked Geidam LGA in Yobe State, killing a Pastor and others.
